You're evil, Andrew!  It would be much easier to read the source code of the CWB/Perl modules themselves than to make sense of the BNCweb code. ;-)

Sorry about the lack of a tutorial -- anybody feel like writing one?  As a starting point, take a look at the test scripts in the CWB/Perl packages (subdirectory t/), or at the Europarl GUI:

which uses almost everything that CWB-CQP and CWB-CL have to offer.
