[CWB] How to use text categories?

Changing the XML data setting doesn’t affect the text metadata, which is a separate data table. You have to set the datatype of text metadata fields when you import said text metadata (to either "classification" or "free text"). Since you didn't, thus the message "No text classification schemes exist for this corpus."

You need to scrub your text metadata table and generate it again, specifying the classification datatype where appropriate (importing the text metadata either from the XML attributes, or from a separate file).

Andrew.

Thanks for your explanation, Andrew!

Our production server is still running on v3.2.6. If I click on
"Manage text categories", the following message is shown:
"No text classification schemes exist for this corpus."
I set several text attributes to "Classifiction" on the "Manage corpus
XML" page. So, is this due to bad settings or did text categories not
work on that version?

Best,
Stefan
