[CWB] Error # 1290 when trying to build metadata from file

(and if all else fails just use the $mysql_has_file_access config variable - set to false, and an alternate mechanism will be used for reading files to the mysql daemon)

You could try seeing what the setting of secure_file_priv is via the mysql client. (SHOW VARIABLES LIKE "secure_file_priv";)

You could also see if --secure-file-priv is specified in the startup command for mysqld. I *think* that would override the conf file.

Another possibility, maybe an additional config file is being read that overrides your change. The startup command for mysqld will show this (and/or include commands in files within /etc/mysql/.)

best

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew, I did restart mysql after editing .my.cnf, no luck. I also tried reinstalling the corpus. Is it possible to guess what the problem is by reading the error message? (I'm using v3.2.30 on Linux Mint 19, but it seems to be a MySQL problem though) Jiayue
