From goran at informatik.uni-mannheim.de Mon Mar 26 10:48:18 2018 From: goran at informatik.uni-mannheim.de (=?UTF-8?Q?Goran_Glava=C5=A1?=) Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2018 10:48:18 +0200 Subject: [Sigwac] Call for Papers: 7th International Conference on Analysis of Images, Social Networks, and Texts (AIST 2018) Message-ID: *Call for Papers* *AIST'18: The 7th International Conference on Analysis of Images, Social Networks, and TextsMoscow Polytechnic UniversityMoscow, Russia, July 5-7, 2018* ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The conference is intended for computer scientists and practitioners whose interests are related to data science. The previous conferences (2012-2017) attracted a significant number of students, researchers, academics and engineers working on analysis of images, texts, and social networks. The broad scope of AIST makes it an event where researchers from different domains, such as image and text processing, exploiting various data analysis techniques, can meet and exchange ideas. The conference allows specialists from different fields to discuss both theoretical and practical aspects of their data analysis projects. Another aim of the conference is to stimulate scientists and people from the industry to benefit from the knowledge exchange. PROCEEDINGS Similarly to the previous years, the conference proceedings will be published in the Springer?s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Proceeding of the AIST 2017 conference can be found at http://www.springer.com/us/book/9783319730127. Last year we have received 127 submissions mostly from Russia but also from Algeria, Australia, Brazil, China, Finland,Germany, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, USA, and Vietnam. Out of 127 only 37 papers were accepted as regular oral papers as we strive to high standards of quality. However, the conference also featured a large poster session comprising presentations of authors who did not make it into the main volume to encourage young researchers and preliminary work. LIST OF TOPICS Similarly to the previous years, the conference will be focused on innovative applications of data mining and machine learning techniques to various problem domains: image processing, analysis of social networks, and natural language processing. We hope that the participants will benefit from the interdisciplinary nature of the conference and exchange experience. Researchers are welcome to submit papers to one of six tracks (see area chairs of each track below): Track 1. General topics of data analysis Track 2. Natural language processing Track 3. Social network analysis Track 4. Analysis of images and video Track 5. Optimization problems on graphs and network structures Track 6. Analysis of dynamic behavior through event data We anticipate participants can benefit from interdisciplinary nature of the conference and exchange experience. Thus, the unique feature of the conference is its broad field of interest. It is a place where researchers from different domains, such as image, text processing, event data analysis can meet and exchange ideas. This is especially relevant today, when state-of-the-art models, such as deep neural networks, are successfully used across different fields and applications. REVIEWING PROCESS The Program Committee and the reviewers of the conference includes well-known experts in data mining and machine learning, natural language processing, image processing, social network analysis, process mining and related areas from leading institutions. The Programme Committee and the reviewers of the conference included 167 experts in data mining and machine learning, natural language processing, image processing, social network analysis, and related areas from leading institutions of 30 countries including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, The Netherlands, UK, and USA. -- Best regards, Prof. Dr. Goran Glava?
