Chères collègues,

I am an ardent admirer of your package rcqp and the possibilities the package creates to use R for text mining, with the CWB as a backend. Thus, I have been working on a package „polmineR“ a while that gives me the possibility to work with CWB-indexed corpora in a fairly efficient and flexible manner (www.github.com/PolMineR/polmineR<http://www.github.com/PolMineR/polmineR>). Your package is great and indispensable, many thanks for that!

However, I realised that the administrators of CRAN have moved rcqp to the archives. At first, seeing this was nerve-wrecking for me. But actually, it is no problem to install rcqp with R 3.1. I think it is only very minor updates that would be needed to get it installed without any warning on the new R version.

My concern is that I would like to keep rcqp available - for anybody, including the users of polmineR. My question: Would you mind me creating a fork (named rcqp2, for instance) on GitHub? Then it could be installed easily using devtools and install_github(„PolMine/rcqp2“).

I do not have theC knowledge to create the rcqp package, so I would certainly take care to indicate that you did all the original work. If you have any other plans, please let me know.

Kind regards
Andreas
