Right now I did:

cd cwb-3.4.22
make clean
make depend
make all
make install
--------------------------------- INSTALLING CORPUS WORKBENCH

.... install the CL static library file
    .... install cwb/cl.h header
file
    .... install the CQP programs
    ....
install the CQi/cqi.h header file
    .... install the CWB utility
programs
    .... install all manual files

but still I think there is something I'm laking because....

/usr/local/bin/cqp -v

shouldn't really do that – messing around with system packages is bound to lead to
problems sooner or later. If you have a little time, make sure to compile and install a
current version of CWB from source code. v3.4.14 is quite ancient, too, and you'll benefit
from lots of bug fixes that have been made in the meantime. Best, Steph
