This creates all the usual risks involved in running 5 year old software. But as long as you’re happy to bear those risks, go ahead!

best

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you very much for your explanation. Since providing open access (without registration) for all users of the corpus is a requirement for our project, we will probably deploy CPQWeb version 3.0.16. I believe htaccess restrictions can be removed in versions < 3.1 (although keeping htaccess for /adm, /lib and /bin seems like a good idea). We will use the current version within our research group, so we can take advantage ourselves of the new features. Thanks again!

Javier

Hi Javier,

This is a feature under development. For the time being, the easiest way to do this is to create a “guest” or “general” account with the appropriate privileges and puts username and password somewhere openly.

Andrew.

Hi,

We are setting up a CPQWeb server (version 3.2.30). We would like to provide access to non registered users for a given corpus. Is it possible to do so? Section 10.7 of the System Administrator’s Manual seems to suggest that it is, but it has not yet been written. I have not been able to find a way to do it through the Admin Control Panel.

Thanks!

Javier
